If you’ve got an Amazon Prime membership but haven’t taken advantage of their monthly Subscribe & Save program, you are missing out on some of the best deals that Amazon has to offer. These offers can be extremely helpful for those items that need constant refilling, including laundry supplies, toiletries, and even supplements.
How does Amazon Subscribe & Save work?
If you’ve got an Amazon account already, just head to their Subscribe & Save tab and start browsing items that you typically use frequently. Think: your favorite shampoo, paper towels, diapers, etc.
Once there, you’ll see the items have options in the “add-to-cart” area. Instead of your standard one-time purchase, opt instead to set up your subscription. Pick the frequency you want (monthly, every three months, etc.), and it will get added to your Subscribe & Save order each time automatically.
Your order will come on a set day each month, and by selecting this instead of a single purchase, you can save 15 percent or more on your essentials. The more items you add to your monthly order, the larger your savings will be. In the example pictured above, if you have less than five items, you’ll save 5 percent, but if you’ve got more items, you’ll save 15 percent. The value of the items in the cart doesn’t matter, so smaller things like toothpaste or sponges for your dishes can really make a difference.
What if I don’t want Amazon Subscribe & Save items anymore?
About a week before your monthly order is set to ship, you’ll get an email reminder that gives you the opportunity to see what’s coming and change your automatic order before it charges your account and ships out. I personally change the frequency of my order all the time. Colder months mean more of my favorite lotions and chapsticks, and when my kid is away at camp, I need less toilet paper. You can just skip months, or cancel altogether if you no longer need the items.
